Job Role – Substation Design and Project Execution Engineer
As a Substation Design and Project Execution Engineer, you will lead the design, execution, and
commissioning of indoor and outdoor substations. Key responsibilities include layout planning,
foundation design, testing, quality control, and compliance with IEC, ISO, and APQP standards.
You will prepare client-specific designs, manage subcontractors, coordinate with procurement and
site teams, and ensure project progress aligns with approved drawings and timelines. The role also
involves supporting marketing through value-based designs and case studies.
Strong expertise in design/testing tools, team leadership, and communication is essential, along with
thorough documentation, knowledge of export protocols, and flexibility to handle additional tasks
assigned by management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Substation Design & Engineering
Design substations and oversee layout and foundation works.
Write design specifications and client-specific substation plans.
Create new product designs and labeling for substations.
Utilize design and testing tools for hands-on engineering tasks.
2. Project Execution & Site Management
Lead testing and commissioning of indoor and outdoor substations.
Supervise site labor force and subcontractors to ensure execution as per drawings.
Monitor project schedules and ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory
standards.
3. Quality Assurance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with ISO, APQP, and IEC standards.
Prepare control plans, other QA documents.
Submit progress and completion reports; ensure thorough and accurate documentation.
4. Client & Team Coordination
Liaise with clients for requirement gathering and progress updates.
Lead and mentor project teams and subordinates.
Collaborate in brainstorming sessions for resolving technical challenges.
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
Support procurement by coordinating with purchasing and logistics teams.
Assist the digital marketing team with value-driven substation designs and case studies.
6. Testing & Lab Setup
Set up and manage in-house test labs where necessary.
7.Compliance & Export Knowledge, Reporting & Review
Ensure adherence to IEC and export protocols as required.
Participate in project review meetings and address client concerns.
8.Other Duties
Perform any additional assignments as delegated by management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
2.Proficiency in substation design and testing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).& Strong knowledge of
IEC, ISO, and APQP standards.
3. Experience in substation testing, commissioning, and QA documentation .&Project management
skills including scheduling, team supervision, and subcontractor coordination.
4. Familiarity with procurement processes, export protocols, and compliance requirements.&
Excellent communication skills for client interaction, reporting, and team collaboration.
5. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and resolve technical issues.& Strong documentation,
reporting, and technical writing skills.
6. Flexible to handle additional tasks and support marketing with design inputs.
